This page explains what HVAC Answer Guy collects, why it is collected, who processes it, and the choices you have.
Information you provide
We collect information you deliberately submit: feedback, optional contact details, field-tester name, email, role and brand selections, and account email and identifier when you sign in with ChatGPT. If live Ask Gauge is enabled, your questions and recent conversation context are processed to generate an answer.
Automatic and local data
We collect limited anonymous events such as section views, selected calculators, failed error-code searches, and helpful/not-helpful ratings. We do not intentionally store IP addresses, job notes, equipment serial numbers, AI questions, or contact details in that analytics log. Saved codes, service notes, audience choice and offline files may be stored locally in your browser or device.
Service providers
OpenAI/Sites hosts the application and provides sign-in and AI services; Cloudflare provides database and delivery infrastructure; Resend sends feedback notifications; Stripe processes payments and subscription management; and Amazon or other retailers may receive information when you follow an outside product link. Their own policies govern data they process.
Use, retention and sharing
Information is used to operate accounts, answer questions, process subscriptions, improve content, respond to feedback, prevent abuse and communicate with testers. We do not sell personal information. Records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes, legal obligations, security and dispute handling.
Your choices
You can turn anonymous usage reporting off from the website, clear locally saved data through your browser, cancel a paid plan through the billing portal, or request access, correction or deletion by emailing dom@hvacanswerguy.com. Do not submit customer names, addresses, passwords, private job data or payment-card numbers in feedback or Ask Gauge.
